Table football or table soccer are other names that are commonly used for the recreational room sports game of Foosball. This game is similar to the game of soccer (football) but is an indoor game that is played with semi stationary characters attached to a horizontal rod in a larger box. Bossaball is a fairly new international game that is a fun and unique twist on volleyball. There are 3 to 5 players on each team and they play on an inflatable court. Each side of the court has a trampoline where one of the players stands inside to get extra bounce. The players are also allowed to use any part i.e. hands, feet, or head.

Underwater rugby rules and equipment are very different than regular rules for rugby. Safety is much more of a factor as well as how the ball would be able to stay underwater. The CMAS Under Water Rugby Rules were set in place to allow the ball to be played under the water.
Wiffle ball is a variation of the sport of baseball designed for indoor or outdoor play in confined areas. The game is played using a light-weight plastic perforated ball and a plastic bat.

In June 2006, the US Handball Association (USHA) issuesd changes to the rules regarding broken balls.
The 2007/2008 Official Beach Volleyball Rules determined by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) dictate that the balls be spherical, flexible and uniform within a match. At 66 to 68 cm in circumference and appearing in bright colors, the balls are made of materials that do not absorb humidity.

The National Lacrosse League consists of men’s professional indoor lacrosse or Box Lacrosse teams. While they have a 95 page Official Rule Book, the rule regarding the ball remains a mystery.

Golf is a ball sport in which competing golfers use many types of clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course using the fewest number of strokes. The golfer with the least number of strokes by the end of the game wins.
The United States Golf Association includes rules for golf balls in Appendix II of their Rules for Golf.
